Solar and photovoltaic products
Test requirements exist on photovoltaic (PV) modules to guarantee safe electrical and mechanical operation during the expected service life. Specific issues are dealt with in various Standards whereby safeguarding against electric shock, fire hazards and injuries to persons as a consequence of mechanical and environment-related stresses can be assessed. MPA Dresden GmbH specialises in the verification of fire hazards in accordance with the following Standards:
Standard | Title of the Standard |
DIN EN 61730-2 | Photovoltaic (PV) module safety qualification - Part 2: Requirements for testing (IEC 82/663/CD) |
DIN CEN/TS 1187-1 | Test methods for external fire exposure to roofs Test method 1: Under attack with burning brands |
UL 790 Test in accordance with international Standard |
Standard test methods for fire tests of roof covering |
